As an undergraduate at the University of California, Los Angeles, Nadia Lockyer led a number of initiatives to assist youth, including instructing inner-city youth through Project Motivation and completing a study of young people on parole through the David Kenyon Juvenile Justice Center. She ultimately earned her bachelor of arts in sociology with a minor in juveniles and crime. While pursuing her juris doctor at Loyola Law School, Nadia Lockyer chaired the Public Interest Law Foundation, studied human rights and environmental law in Central America, and mentored local elementary school students.Working for a range of private law firms and public institutions over the course of her career, Nadia Lockyer has won multiple awards including a League of United Latin American Citizens Diamond Leadership Award and a National Women’s History Month History Makers Award. Ms. Lockyer currently operates her own legal services and consultancy business in Long Beach, California, where she concentrates on cases of interpersonal violence and child abuse.
